Giulia Besana, Country Manager of Totohealth Tanzania, holder of an MSc in Reproductive & Sexual Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) with 10 years of work experience in developing countries with 8 years in Tanzania. Giulia has extensive experience on Maternal Health and M&E having worked and consulted under this capacity for Jhpiego, Pathfinder, OPM, DFID, USAID and PMI. Giulia has always had a passion for Maternal and Child Health from a very young age as she grew up living in and around hospitals in Tanzania for a large part of her childhood. Her decision to settle back to Tanzania after completing her Masters in 2009 has been fueled by the injustice apparent from the disparity in health services and outcomes between countries in Africa and Europe. Recently a first time mum herself Giulia co-founded Totohealth to ensure that all women in Tanzania have access to education on how to lead a healthy pregnancy and childbirth, motivate mothers to give birth at a health facility by ensuring access to a safe and clean delivery kit and provide access to essential items to give every baby a better chance to survive the first and most dangerous month of life.

Tayeb Noorbhai is a Tanzanian development professional with a decade of experience driving impact within the social business sector. His niche has been established in starting and scaling solutions to development in Tanzania. Tayeb understands that for transformation to be seen, cross sectoral impact needs to be spurred and sustained, within a range of key sectors and levels from grassroots implementers to private and public partners. This belief has shaped his last 10 years of action in the development sector. He’s a graduate of Development Studies & Geography from SOAS, University of London, and a MPhil (Oxon) in International Development from the University of Oxford. Having started his development career with SNV, helping shape, establish and implement a national level biogas programme, he then went on to co-found the largest biogas enterprise in East Africa called SimGas. With SNV, he advised national programs across East Africa, Burkina Faso and Senegal. In Tanzania, the national programme is now in Phase II, with a strong private-sector approach, and government-led, so households can access biogas systems in a market-led modality. Following this, Tayeb has co-founded and established a range of social businesses within Tanzania that are each looking to create significant change in their sector of focus. Currently, Tayeb is focused to reducing maternal, newborn and child mortality, and the early identification of disabilities for children, through Totohealth Tanzania.

Ratna graduated from the University of Michigan where she studied Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering. She later earned her MBA in Global Business Strategy and Marketing from New York University, and worked for ten years in business operations of the beauty and fragrance industry in New Work. Totohealth Tanzania is excited to have her as part of our team as Head of Sales and Marketing.

I like working for Totohealth because I wanted to try something new and one that makes a positive impact in our society. There's a lot of opportunity in this country and region that I want to be a part of something so positive and lasting.

Chazi M. Mlawa is a professional Accountant graduated from Institute of Finance Management (IFM). Currently he is an Accountant, Admin and HR Officer at Totohealth Tanzania Limited a social enterprise based in Moshi town - Kilimanjaro. Chazi M. Mlawa joined Totohealth Tanzania Limited in June, 2016. In his current role, he is a Accountant, Admin and HR specialist. This involves supporting the implementation of all financial processes, implementing appropriate controls and best practises, ensuring financial and donor reporting compliance. He also have a hands on accounting and admin role with a variety of administrative functions, including Human Resources roles in the Totohealth Tanzania Limited.

Christina holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Bergen, Norway with three years work experience in management positions. The management positions developed her ability to interact with people from various backgrounds, which is why she serves as a Wazazi Trainer for Totohealth Tanzania.

I am very happy to be in the team of Totohealth Tanzania working hard to reach the company to the peak of its vision and have impact across Tanzania.

Nembris Paulo assists the team with finance operations as an Admin intern for Totohealth Tanzania. She is currently pursuing her diploma for Accounting at Stefano Moshi Memorial University College. Nembris previously managed the local retail supply chains for Totohealth Tanzania..

Why do you like working for Totohealth Tanzania?
I like working with Totohealth because they are impacting women's lives in Tanzania, and especially because I am also a mother myself. I have learned a lot after joining the organization, and continue to do so.

David Okello is the Finance Manager for Totohealth Tanzania. David is a Qualified Chartered Certified Professional Accountant and brings 15 years of international expertise in financial modelling, financial systems, formulating policies and procedures, treasury and financial management, financial controls and strategy. His experience ranges from small (SME/ start-up) to large blue-chip corporates like The Royal Bank of Scotland, Centrica British Gas, KPMG auditing, Umeme Ltd, BBOXX Ltd.

Why do you like working for Totohealth Tanzania?
Totohealth has a great team spirit, location, and vision to make a difference in the community, especially with the lives of vulnerable mums-to-be by making sure that they are well informed of the available health services and opporutunities. It is great to work for an organization that is making a contribution towards achieving one of the key UN Sustainable Development Goals which is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

Stella Kessy serves as a Wazazi Trainer with Totohealth Tanzania. She graduated from Sokoine University of Agriculture with a Bachelor's of Science in Human Nutrition and has served as an asset to the Totohealth Tanzania Team.

Its is not easy being a mother. I like working with Totohealth because I wanted to make a positive contribution on making motherhood safe and joyful experience.

Samuel is a Computer science graduate from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). Currently he is a software developer at Totohealth Tanzania. This involves working on integration of Totohealth system in Tanzania ensuring the team is able to use the system in serving Tanzania’s mothers. Following his passion in software development, he worked in several companies such as Telkom kenya and Ventilab Technologies. He saw the opportunity to work in Totohealth as a great chance to grow together with an aspirational team.

Totohealth has given me a chance to use my skills in developing a platform that can be used to help serve mothers by sending the educational SMS.

Naishoki Lukumay, Sales Representative for CDP's. Naishoki holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mzumbe University, as well as a Masters in Business Management from Moshi Cooperative University. Before joining Totohealth she worked with Bonite Bottlers LTD as an Area Sales Supervisor. This position allowed Naishoki to perfect her sales skills, and we are very excited to have her as part of the Totohealth Team.
